Art

The art program at Charles Kelly Elementary is packed with educational excitement! All lessons are centered on Discipline-Based Art Education (DBAE). The goal of disciplined based art education is to develop students' abilities to understand and appreciate art. This involves knowledge of the theories and contexts of art and abilities to respond to as well as to create art. In the art classroom, students also explore a variety of cultures and integrate such subjects as math, science, social studies, and reading. The art classroom is a safe and open environment for all students to create!

Music

The music program at Charles Kelly Elementary is designed to develop creativity in students. All lessons are taught to help students develop performance, expression, routines, dance, and talents using musical instruments. Students learn to use state of the art musical instruments, while learning how to read music and develop music vocabulary. Students participate in concerts, and are selected for band, which practices weekly. The music program is a cultural treasure here at Charles Kelly and has produced musical talents in the district that are second to none!!!

Physical Education

Here at Charles Kelly, we believe physical education is critical in the development of the whole child, mind, body and spirit. Our physical education program helps to develop leadership, importance of being a team player, importance of health, and lifelong skills of recognizing the value of nutrition and exercise. Students participate in activities weekly for physical fitness and recreation. Students participate in organized physical education activities to promote independent learning and team building skills that can be incorporated into their daily life experiences!
